Product Information
What is a transfer sticker?
A transfer sticker is a sticker consisting of multiple individually cut pieces of vinyl, leaving no vinyl background material. A layer of transfer tape is then placed over the top of your sticker in order to hold it together when you transfer your sticker to its desired surface, such as a window, laptop or water bottle.
All of our Transfer Stickers consist of 3 layers of material.
- The first layer is the paper backing of the vinyl material.
- The second layer is the vinyl sticker material itself
- The third layer is the transfer tape, this is placed over the top of your sticker design.
This tape is what holds all the individual pieces of your sticker design together once you remove the paper backing from your sticker. It also allows you to place multiple individual pieces of vinyl sticker material on your desired surface cleanly and evenly.
What material is used for your custom transfer stickers?
We offer two vinyl material options for your transfer stickers. Our removable vinyl material is made from a low tack vinyl that has a 1 to 3 year outdoor durability lifespan when properly applied and maintained.
If you are looking for something more durable, we recommend our permanent vinyl material. Made from a calendered vinyl material with an outdoor durability of 3 to 5 years when properly applied and maintained.
What is transfer tape?
Transfer tape, also referred to as transfer paper, application tape or “pre-mask” transfer tape is a paper or plastic film that is placed on the top of a vinyl sticker or decal material to hold all of the individual design pieces together in order to make it easier to apply your sticker. Once you apply your transfer sticker to its desired surface, simply peel away the transfer tape to reveal your sticker.

Common Uses
What are some common uses for transfer stickers?
Transfer stickers are commonly used to transfer lettering, logos or designs onto a desired surface. Most people use them to brand jars, glasses, laptops or windows. They are also commonly used by DIYer to add personal lettering or complex graphics to a multitude of projects and surfaces.
What surfaces can transfer stickers be placed on?
Custom transfer stickers can be placed on a multitude of surfaces including your car, water bottle, laptop, cell phone, guitar, skateboard, etc. and will apply properly to any non-porous, smooth surface such as walls, metal, plastic, wood and glass.
Will the transfer stickers leave any sticky residue behind?
Depending on how long the transfer sticker will be placed on its intended surface and what vinyl sticker material you choose will determine if residue will be left behind.
If you are worried about residue we recommend our removable material. This material is intended to remove cleanly from its surface for up to 1 year after placement.
If you do remove a sticker and it leaves behind residue, we recommend using warm soapy water or a light cleaning agent to help cut through any residual residue that was left behind. Try to avoid using any sharp objects or anything with a hard edge to remove your stickers as this can scratch and damage the surface you are trying to clean.
Can I reposition my transfer sticker after it has been placed?
No, we do not recommend trying to re-apply a transfer sticker after it has been placed. Because there is no vinyl background material left it causes the sticker to become very fragile and trying to remove it could lead to tearing of the vinyl sticker material.
