What's the difference between a sticker and a label?
In general, stickers are used for graphics or logos with limited text. Labels are for labeling items like food packaging, candles or gifts Decals.com product info page breaks down the differences between labels, stickers and decals.
Do you do color matching?
All products are printed in CMYK. If files are submitted in RGB, color shifting will take place. If a specific PMS color is needed, please let us know when you submit the order. We will do our best to meet that specified color.
Can I write on my label?
You can write on any of our vinyl labels that have a matte finish. That finnish allows you to be able to write on them with a permanent marker. Our Name labels are great for labeling school or work lunch sacks.
Can your custom decals be designed to be put on the outside of windows?
Yes. Our custom window clings, clear window decals can either be front or back adhesive.
Our car window decals, vinyl window graphics and custom vinyl lettering are only back adhesive. Back adhesive means that the decal can only sit on the exterior side of the window.
What is the smallest sized lable I can order?
In general, the smallest label size we offer is 2”x2”, however our roll labels can be as small as 1”x1”.
Is there a minimum quantity for ordering labels?
Yes. The minimum quantities for ordering labels depend on the product, but in general, the minimum order is 5 labels.
What format do I need to use to upload my label design?
Preferred Files for Printing:
The maximum file size we accept is 100 MB. Our preferred file types are:
- Adobe Illustrator EPS (Encapsulated Post Script)
- Adobe Illustrator AI (Adobe Illustrator)
- PDF (Adobe PDF)
Additional Files Accepted:
- JPG (High Resolution JPG)
- TIFF (High Resolution TIFF)

Do you offer free samples?
Yes! We provide free samples of our materials so you can touch and see the different kinds of decals, stickers, and labels we offer. Simply fill out the online request form. If you have a special project, then we also offer custom samples.
How do I make my own custom labels on your website?
- Online Design Tool: Use your imagination and create your own design using our online tool. Choose a background, graphics, text or upload your own.
- Upload a file: Already have a design? Upload your own artwork (.eps, .ai, .pdf, .jpg)
Can I order different materials with the same artwork?
Yes. You can upload your artwork or design your label with our online designer and save it for later use. You just need to make an account.
What is the 'removable' material option?
Our removable material option is great for non-permanent labeling. A label made from removable material can be removed cleanly, without residue, up to one year after being in place.
Are your labels waterproof?
All of our vinyl label products are water resistant. The only label product that is not water resistant is our paper roll label material option.
How do I make address labels?
You can begin making your custom address labels by simply choosing your label size, finish option and then uploading your artwork.
Can I make custom labels on a roll?
Yes. You can make roll labels, just visit our custom roll labels page to get started.
Do you offer a permanent label option?
Yes. Our permanent labels are made from a weatherproof calendared vinyl material. They’re an excellent choice for fire extinguishers or safety warning labels on heavy machinery.
Do your custom labels have a glossy or matte finish?
Our custom labels have both glossy as well as matte finishing options.
Can I get a proof of my custom label order?
Yes. We offer free artwork proofs so you can see how your labels will look. That way you have an opportunity to fix any typos or change anything you don’t like.
