Die Cut Labels VS. Kiss Cut Labels

The main differences between these two cut options, comes down to the paper backing on each label.

Die-Cut Sticker

Die-Cut

Die-cut means that we are cutting through both the vinyl label material and the paper backing. This cut type doesn't leave any material around the label. Another way to look at it is to think of it like a "cookie cutter." Your labels are all individually cut out to the contour of your design, so you have individually cut labels with no paper material around the design.

* Please note, back slit (crack and peel) is only available on labels 3" x 3" up to 12" x 12". *

Kiss-Cut Sticker

Kiss-Cut

Kiss-cut means we are only cutting through the vinyl layer ("label material") and not cutting through the paper backing, leaving a paper material border around your label. When you choose a kiss-cut label, you will have extra material around your label for easy peeling.

Product Information

What material is used for your box labels?

We offer two vinyl material options for your custom box labels. Our removable vinyl material is made from a low tack vinyl that adheres perfectly to smooth, non-porous surfaces like cardboard.

If you are looking for something more durable, we recommend our permanent vinyl material. Made from a calendered vinyl material with an outdoor durability of 3 to 5 years when properly applied and maintained. This is recommended if you are looking to place your labels on boxes, plastics bins, or anything that you would need a stronger adhesive label.

Do your box labels have a glossy or matte finish?

Our custom box labels are available in both a gloss or matte finish.

Will my design impact the pricing of my box labels?

Colors, fonts, and images will not affect the pricing of your custom box labels. The only factors that will impact the price of your labels are the size and quantity you order.

The only time color will affect your price is if you request a color match proof. If you need a color match proof, please contact us to speak with one of our friendly customer service reps!

Do you have a minimum quantity order when it comes to box label printing?

Yes, for box labels, the minimum quantity you can order is 5 labels. But ordering more labels does have its perks, the more you order the more you save on the cost per label.

Will you send me a proof before printing my labels?

Yes, we offer free artwork proofs that will let you see how your custom box labels will look prior to us putting them into production. This will let you check for any typos or artwork errors, giving you more control over your order.

What size are your box labels?

We offer a variety of static size options, ranging as small as a  2” x 2” box label to as large as a 5” x 8” box label.

If you are looking for a size option that you do not see listed, please fill out our custom quote form and one of our customer service reps will reach out to you to assist you on your box label project.

Common Uses

What are some common uses for box labels?

Box labels can be used as shipping, branding, or packaging labels to help let not only your customers know what to expect inside but are also an easy way for manufacturers, warehouses, and logistical services to identify your box and help to protect the contents inside.

What surfaces can box labels be placed on?

Since we print our box labels on a durable vinyl material they are not limited to just cardboard boxes. They can essentially be placed on a multitude of smooth non-porous surfaces including glass, plastic, wood, aluminum, stainless steel, etc. Giving you a versatile option when it comes to labeling and branding your boxes or items.
