Die Cut Labels VS. Kiss Cut Labels

The main differences between these two cut options, comes down to the paper backing on each label.

Die-Cut Sticker

Die-Cut

Die-cut means that we are cutting through both the vinyl label material and the paper backing. This cut type doesn't leave any material around the label. Another way to look at it is to think of it like a "cookie cutter." Your labels are all individually cut out to the contour of your design, so you have individually cut labels with no paper material around the design.

* Please note, back slit (crack and peel) is only available on labels 3" x 3" up to 12" x 12". *

Kiss-Cut Sticker

Kiss-Cut

Kiss-cut means we are only cutting through the vinyl layer ("label material") and not cutting through the paper backing, leaving a paper material border around your label. When you choose a kiss-cut label, you will have extra material around your label for easy peeling.

Product Information

What material is used for your custom labels?

We offer two vinyl material options for your custom labels. Our removable vinyl material is made from a low tack vinyl that adheres perfectly to smooth, non-porous surfaces like glass and plastic.

If you are looking for something more durable, we recommend our permanent vinyl material. Made from a calendered vinyl material with an outdoor durability of 3 to 5 years when properly applied and maintained.

Do your labels have a glossy or matte finish?

Our custom labels come in both a gloss or matte finish.

Will my design impact the pricing of my labels?

Colors, fonts, and images will not affect the pricing of your personalized labels. The only factors that will impact the price of your labels are the size and quantity you order.

The only time color will affect your price is if you request a color match proof. If you need a color match proof, please contact us to speak with one of our friendly customer service reps!

Do you have a minimum quantity order for custom label printing?

Yes, for custom labels, the minimum quantity you can order is 5 labels. But ordering more does have its perks, the more you order the more you save on the cost per label.

Will you send me a proof before printing my labels?

Yes, we offer free artwork proofs that will let you see how your personalized labels will look prior to us putting them into production. This will let you check for any typos or artwork errors, giving you more control over your order.

How small or large can my custom labels be?

We can print your custom sticker label as small as 2” x 2” or as big as 12” x 12”. Giving you the option to print a label big enough for custom shipping labels to be placed on packages and small enough to be used on the lid of mason jars.

If you are looking for a size option that you do not see listed, please fill out our custom quote form and one of our customer service reps will reach out to you to assist you on your project.

Common Uses

What are some common uses for custom labels?

Custom labels are commonly used for both personal and business uses. If you are a business you may create labels for products, such as; bottle labels, candle labels, hand sanitizer labels, soap labels, shipping labels, and so on. Some businesses also use them to create safety or warning labels as well to help make employees aware of the danger of using heavy equipment or that electric shock is possible.

If you are not a business and are looking for some fun custom printed labels for at home your options are just about endless. Some of the more common ways people use labels at home are for jelly or jam labels, honey labels, or custom mason jar labels. They are also commonly used for custom wine or beer bottle labels for weddings, parties, or for those homebrewers who want to add a personal touch to their beer bottle.

What surfaces can vinyl labels be placed on?

Since we print our labels on a durable vinyl material they can be placed on a multitude of smooth non-porous surfaces including, glass, plastic, cardboard, aluminum, stainless steel, etc. Giving you a versatile option when it comes to labeling and branding your items.
