Transfer Cut Option

Transfer Decal

Transfer Cut

Transfer cut option means that we will be cutting the vinyl decal material to a specified shape, graphic or text and then removing or “picking” any excess or unwanted vinyl material from your design leaving no vinyl background on your decal. We then place a transfer tape over the top of the remaining pieces of vinyl. This tape is what holds all the individual cut pieces of your decal design once you remove the paper backing from your decal. It also allows you to place multiple individual pieces of vinyl decal material on your desired surface cleanly and evenly.

* Vector File (EPS) format needed for Transfer Cut decals. *

Transfer Cut / Pick Charge

Transfer cut price includes 8 standard picks with a Maximum of 40 picks per sq. foot.

Additional picks are $0.02 to $0.04 per pick depending on difficulty/intricacy.

Intricately cut decals will be custom quoted based on difficulty and time required to pick.

For more information visit our transfer cut guidelines.

Vector Art

Vector art consists of lines and curves that are mathematically defined objects. When viewing art in key line mode you can see the points or vectors when connecting your lines and curves. They can also be seen when using the pen tool or editing the points along a path. Vector art is ideal for type and drawn shapes because they can be enlarged to any size while maintaining crisp outlines and details without sacrificing quality. The distance between the vectors is calculated mathematically and is not dependent upon resolution.

Raster Art

Raster images consist of colored squares, called pixels. They are created by combining a series of various colored pixels. Digital photographs are made up of pixels. If you view a raster image at 200% or more you are able to see the individual pixels that make up the image. Raster images are dependent upon resolution so image enlargement is limited by the individual size at which the file was created. If a file is produced at a size that is larger than its resolution will allow, the quality will decrease. Printing a low resolution file will result in pixelation. Individual pixels are large enough to be easily discernable. Increasing the resolution will not solve this problem is there are not enough pixels to begin with. The program will add more pixels based upon the estimation of their location and will then assign their neighboring pixels's color value. This may cause an image to look muddy.

If submitting these files, please follow the guidelines below:

  • 100% scale (full size output) at 100 dpi
  • 50% scale at 200 dpi or higher
  • 25% scale at 300 dpi or higher
  • 10% scale at 600-1200 dpi recommended

Frequently Asked Questions Return to Top

Product Information

What are your vinyl wall letters made from?

We offer two variations of our wall decals: digitally printed on either 3-millimeter standard tack adhesive vinyl or 3-millimeter extreme tack adhesive vinyl. The standard tack vinyl provides UV protection and scratch resistance, ensuring durability for up to 5 years outdoors when applied and maintained properly, while guarding against fading and scratches.

On the other hand, our extreme tack vinyl is designed for low-energy surfaces, offering superior adhesion. With UV protection and scratch resistance provided by its lamination, it boasts a lifespan of 3–5 years when correctly applied and maintained.

Both variants feature a matte finish, adding a sleek touch to any space.

Will the lettering adhesive ruin my walls or paint?

With proper application and removal, standard tack vinyl wall decals shouldn't damage your walls, paint, or wallpaper. However, be cautious with extreme tack adhesive wall decals, as they may cause damage upon removal. These high tack wall decals are intended for surfaces that require extra adhesion due to high VOC paints.

It's worth noting that leaving a decal on a wall for an extended period may result in some paint peeling when you remove it.

Can I reposition my vinyl wall art lettering?

No. Transfer-cut letters and designs can be delicate and are recommended for single use only.

Can I use many different colors and fonts in my design?

Yes, we digitally print our decals and therefore, you can use as many fonts and colors at no extra charge.

Do your vinyl wall letters have a glossy or matte finish?

These decals have a matte finish.

How large can a vinyl wall lettering decal be?

We have a maximum print width of 120” and a maximum print height of 52” anything larger than 52” will require your decal to be printed in panels.

Will my custom design affect the pricing of my decal?

Colors and fonts will not affect the pricing of your decal. Size and quantity of your order are the only things that will impact the price of your wall lettering.

Common Uses

What are some common uses for vinyl wall lettering?

Vinyl wall lettering is a great way to decorate your home or office! Some of the more common uses we see are motivating quotes in athletic rooms, offices, or homes. Create unique and beautiful wall decor for your bedroom, kitchen, living room, or bathroom.

Use custom wall lettering for business hours of operation, company slogans and safety designations such as fire extinguishers or emergency exits. Place vinyl lettering throughout your office for use as building directories or directional signage.

What surfaces can I place my vinyl lettering on?

These decals adhere best when placed on smooth, non-porous surfaces like painted walls, metal, glass, plastic and tile. We do not recommend placing these decals on brick, concrete, or any rough or porous surface as they will not properly adhere.

Please note: wall decal or wall sticker materials may not stick to every type of paint. This is due to the paint chemical compositions, wall texture, paint finishes and proper cure time. Read our article, It’s Likely the Paint: Why Wall Decals Won’t Stick.
To ensure your decal or sticker will adhere to your wall, order a sample packet and try it out.

Why won’t my wall graphics stick?

In short, blame the paint, not yourself. Some paints contain something called no-VOC or low-VOC components. Which basically just means it is more fire retardant, and smudge proof. The higher the VOC in something, the easier it is to burn.

The industrial manufacturer 3M says, ”Paints that are low in Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are now the most commonly available wall paint. These newer paint formulations are being driven by laws intended to help protect the environment – something we can all appreciate. However, the new paint formulations have reduced how well a film’s adhesive can adhere to a painted wall. “

Also according to 3M, “With the rapidly changing  formulations of paints, there is no single film or adhesive from any film manufacturer that works best on all painted surfaces.”

There you have it.  Wall decals may also not stick due to the wall texture and temperature fluctuations. Test it out by ordering a sample packet.
